Our Core Values

1. Jesus: Jesus is our Lord and Savior. In Him we live and move and have our being. Without Him we are nothing. In Him we are everything. John 15:5; Acts 17:28 2. Prayer: Peter tells us to “cast all our cares upon Him, for he cares for us “The weaker and more helpless you know yourself to be, the stronger will you become in His strength.” I Peter 5:7, Acts !:14 and Desire of Ages 329 3. Love: “But the greatest of these is love.” The bottom line of God’s message to us is love because God Himself is love. His Kingdom values all center and end in love. The “greatest” of all His teachings condenses and expands in love. Love for God, self and others. I Corinthians 13:13 4. Hope: Our global society is troubled by many uncertainties. The idea of utopia eludes the best of human efforts. Nevertheless, Jesus calls us to compassionately minister in this world that is plagued by Sickness, death, injustice, economic volatility and terrorism and work to alleviate the sufferings of our fellow human beings. BUT one day all things will be made new through the imminent coming of Jesus and then there will be Shalom! John 14:1-3, Revelation 21:1-4   5. Mission: The church exists for the sake of His mission and fellowship. We have an appointed work to do and to be His ambassadors on this earth. Consider the following citation stipulating the mission and purpose of God’s Church: “The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to carry the Gospel into all the world. From the beginning it has been God’s plan that through His church shall be reflected to the world, His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to the principalities and powers in heavenly places, the final and full display of the love of God.” AA page 1; Ephesians 3:10   6. Character: As His representatives we are committed to the fruits of His Spirit which encompass: personal integrity, honesty, openness, kindness, compassion, just to name a few. See Galatians 5:22-26 for greater detail.   7. Inclusiveness: All people are God’s people by Creation and by God’s redemptive provision. All men and women have been created in the image of God. Therefore, every human being, without respect to the biases of this world, is a child of God subject to His grace and love. John 3:16,17   8. Unconventional Ministry: The world is ever- changing and developing. Therefore, His church must be willing to adjust its methodology of ministry in reaching others for Jesus. The Spirit of God has called and gifted us in many different ways to reach others with His love. We welcome new, effective and creative ways to share His Message of love with others. I Corinthians 12:11
